A Journey Shaped by Instinct
Renu Oberoi’s relationship with jewellery began long before she imagined it as a profession. Growing up, she was surrounded by her mother’s discerning eye and passion for collecting rare pieces, often accompanying her to jewellers and watching the quiet artistry behind each creation. These early experiences nurtured her fascination with design and shaped an instinctive sense of style rooted in authenticity and individuality.
Her first foray into design was deeply personal - co-creating her trousseau jewellery and later reimagining her wedding gifts into pieces that reflected her own modern sensibility. Compliments soon turned into commissions, and by the early 1990s she was designing privately for friends and family. In 2002, she unveiled her first 99-piece collection at a private exhibition in Mumbai - an event that sold almost entirely within two days, marking her arrival as one of the earliest voices in India’s designer-jewellery movement.
Guided by a simple yet uncompromising philosophy - “Be genuine and honest in what you do. Be true to yourself and true to your offering, and everything else will follow” - Renu continues to create jewellery defined by sincerity and an unwavering commitment to exceptional quality and design integrity. As she often says, “If I won’t wear it, I won’t sell it.”
Under her creative direction, Renu Oberoi has become synonymous with a design philosophy that celebrates the gem as muse while honouring the individuality of each creation - where every jewel is imagined as a singular work of art: one-of-a-kind, expressive, and deeply personal. Through this lens, Renu continues to shape a modern vocabulary of luxury defined by design and craftsmanship. With the opening of her flagship boutique at Nariman Point in 2022, her vision of modern Indian luxury found its home - a space where authenticity and artistry converge.
